Green Kashmir Permaculture Trust
Green Kashmir is an organization that works with local communities to develop sustainability and create opportunities for environmental regeneration, sustainability education, and community resilience- and resource-building in Kashmir.
About the project
I was invited by the dedicated team running Green Kashmir to help introduce Permaculture and sustainability to four schools in Kashmir.
The schools were looking to educate the children on the growing problem of waste that was impacting their communities and families—and what they could do to help the situation.
Through a series of talks and hands-on workshops, we exposed them to positive, sustainable solutions to help them recycle and reduce waste in their homes and environment.
The workshops provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in a fun and engaging way, to help the children learn more and inspire them to introduce this information into their families and local community—thus opening up the possibility for people to have jobs in sustainability / doing permaculture work in the future.
